If you’re looking to start a WordPress blog for cheap, then choosing Bluehost for your hosting needs may be your answer. Bluehost is a great web host. I have personally used their service for several blogs that I manage and I have always had a very positive experience. I am able to work from home part time and make extra money to do the fun things that I enjoy like shopping and travelling all on a very flexible schedule that works for me. I also use my blog to explain my services to clients, which helps me get new clients, but there are other ways of making money through a blog than providing services like advertising and affiliate marketing. I love that I am able to earn a part time income working from home and you can too, but it all starts with getting a blog set up.  The investment is so small and you will quickly get your money back with the first client you land or the first affiliate product sell; however you choose to use your blog.

Bluehost is one of the top web hosting companies in 2017 and you can start your own blog with them for a low cost this month (this low price is through my link only!) Also, if you sign up using my link, then you will get your domain for free if you purchase a 12 month or longer hosting plan (a $15 value). I highly recommend signing up for the 12 month hosting plan through Bluehost. It’s affordable and you can save a lot of money by signing up for at least 12 months. Plus, there are no contracts and you can get a refund anytime, even after 11 months!

Top 8 Reasons why you should get a blog and choose Bluehost for your Wordpress blog hosting needs

  8. You will look more professional when people visit your website since you won’t have a “.blogspot.com” at the end of your domain.

How To Start A WordPress Blog On Bluehost

1. Register your domain name.

The very first thing you will need to do when starting a WordPress blog on Bluehost is to think about what you want your blog to be about. Choose your domain name carefully and try to incorporate keywords. Keywords are words that people typically search for when looking for the topic that your blog is about. For example, if your blog is about homeschooling then your keywords might be something like homeschool, how to start a homeschool, or best ages to homeschool. Then you want to make sure your domain name at least has the word “homeschool” somewhere in it. This will make it easier for search engines to find your website when people are searching for the topic. Avoid abbreviations. Although they may be tempting to use they make it very difficult for a search engine to find your website for a topic.

You can get your domain directly through Bluehost and make the whole process very easy. If you do this, you can get a FREE domain for the first year as long as you buy 12 months worth of Bluehost web hosting. This makes it well worth it to sign up for at least 12 months of hosting as you will be saving a good amount of money this way. You also get a cheaper monthly price when you buy at least 12 months of hosting, so the free domain just makes it even better. If you decide to get the free domain, just continue to the next step as you can buy your hosting and get the free domain all in one step.

2. Buy hosting for your blog.

Setting up a WordPress blog on Bluehost.....Fast and easy! But how much does it cost?

The Basic plan is all you really need to get started, so skip the Plus and Business Pro plans as they are more expensive and not necessary for a new blogger. However, you can always go back and upgrade in time as your blog grows and hosting needs change.

If you don’t want people who Google your website to find your name and mailing address you may want to pay for Domain Privacy Protection. This will keep your information private from others so they can’t see it.

If you sign up from my link on here, then you will get your domain for free if you purchase a 12 month or longer blog hosting plan. Signing up for a year will instead of month to month will save you more money than paying at the higher rate that you pay when you pay from month to month, plus you will have to pay for your domain separately which will cost even more money that if you pay for the whole year at once and get the domain free. Just wanted to let you know the best way to saye in the longer run is to pay up front for the who year. Remember if you change your mind, Bluehost gives guarantees on their service and you can cancel, so there’s really nothing to lose.

Blog hosting will most likely cost you around only $59 a year on average which is a great deal and such a small amount to invest in your new part time work from home business!

When you are ready to create your blog, follow the steps below to buy hosting for your blog:

  • Go to Bluehost and click the “Get Started Now” button.
  • Click on the package you are interested in.
  • Enter your domain name you registered with earlier, or sign up for a new domain name here.
  • Enter your personal and payment information.
  • Next you will be asked to enter a password.

3. Connect your domain and your hosting.

Please note: Skip this section (Section 3) if you buy your domain directly through Bluehost. If you buy your domain through another provider, then you will need to connect your domain (DNS nameservers) to your Bluehost account. Follow the directions of your domain host to locate the DNS nameservers.

4. Install WordPress

In your cPanel (you will receive a link to this in your welcome email from Bluehost), find the part that says “MOJO Marketplace.”

  • Click the “One Click Install” button.
  • Then, click on the WordPress icon on the next page located under “Blogs.”
  • Click on the “Start” button. This will begin the installation.
  • Once in the installation process, you will have to decide which domain you will want to install WordPress on. Click the dropdown menu to the domain you plan on using.
  • Now, you will see “Advanced Options.” This is where you choose your username and password for your WordPress website. You should choose something secure. Don’t use “Admin” as your username. Create a username that is a combination of different letters, numbers, and anything else you can use. You will want to check “Automatically create a new database for this installation” as well, unless you already have a different database (if you don’t know, then you probably do not).
  • Click “Install Now.”
  • Remember to save your username and password.

Congratulations, you now have a WordPress blog! Now you just need to select a theme and fill it with your content (i.e. posts, picture, videos etc).

Have fun with your blog and best wishes!
